Drum roll, please! We are happy to announce the MCLP Endowment Fund has met its initial start-up goal of $100,000. We thank all of our Endowment Founding Members, whose generous gifts made this important milestone possible.
MCLP has graduated five classes, developing 121 diverse leaders over the past five years. Donations to the endowment fund help MCLP establish a financially stable base for future MCLP classes, including matching funds for community partner projects.
Every dollar donated to MCLP has a ripple effect that impacts the broader community in multiple ways. MCLP has completed 23 community projects to date. MCLP graduates currently serve as board members, leaders and volunteers for over 50 local non-profit boards and committees. Employers and graduates alike benefit from the greater diversity of thought and strengthened leadership skills of our graduates, as well as deeper connections throughout McLean County.
How does it work?
The MCLP Endowment Fund is a general endowment fund supported by charitable gifts. The fund is invested and managed over time to provide a sustainable income stream for MCLP, while maintaining the gift’s purchasing power into the future.
Our initial goal was to reach $100,000 by April 2014, when we celebrated MCLP’s 5th anniversary and 5th graduating class. Thanks to the generosity of our Founding Member donors, we did it! The fund includes $50,000 in donations received over the past five years. The fund is opened and maintained through the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation, leveraging the value provided by their 15 years of experience and larger endowment portfolio. The Illinois Prairie Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3), serves as the fiscal agent for MCLP. All contributions are tax deductible.
Continuing to grow
Donations of all sizes are welcomed as we continue to grow the fund. Individual donors contributing $1000 or more and corporate donors contributing $5000 or more are recognized on our website and program materials, with donor approval.
