The Multicultural Leadership Program (MCLP) Class of 2014 will present highlights of their five community service projects at the MCLP Mid-Term Projects Presentation on Saturday morning, December 7. The presentation is open to the public and offers a unique opportunity to hear about MCLP work in progress.

Date: Saturday, December 7, 2013

Schedule Details:

8:00 am — Continental Breakfast

8:30-10:30 am — Project Presentations

11:00 am-12:00 pm — Information Sessions

Location:

Illinois Wesleyan University Memorial Center, Young Main Lounge,

104 E. University Ave., Bloomington, IL

The five non-profit organizations and projects are:

  • The Baby Fold/Healthy Start — develop a long-term financial plan to sustain program
  • Community Cancer Center — increase testing awareness, primarily in the Indian community
  • Faith in Action — increase diversity and outreach, develop a business plan
  • Heartland Head Start — increase awareness and partnerships

MCLP encourages community service as a core servant leadership responsibility. Since 2009, MCLP has partnered each year with four to five local non-profit organizations to address specific community needs identified by those organizations. The Class of 2014 participants will continue their work on these non-profit initiatives until the end of their class term in April 2014.

The presentation will be followed by two information sessions — a Recruitment Reception and a Future Projects Information Session — 11:00 am to noon in the same location. Both events provide individuals and community organizations the chance to learn about future MCLP opportunities, including how to apply for the 2015 MCLP program year.

Individuals interested to attend one of the 11:00 information sessions are encouraged to RSVP (via the links below) by noon Monday, December 2, 2013:
